Yeah this is much better than getting Chalmers and Beasely plus basically whatever you want via trade.

So much better.

We just locked up superstar Linas Kleiza at $5 million per year for the next 4 years.

The Suns would be dumb to do this, but hopefully we trade Turkoglu.

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/b ... index.html

NEW YORK (SI.com) -- Looking to fill the void created by Amar'e Stoudemire's departure, the Suns are working on two deals that would bring Hedo Turkoglu and Josh Childress to Phoenix, according to the Arizona Republic.

In the first trade, the Suns would send veteran guard Leandro Barbosa to Toronto in exchange for Turkoglu, a playmaking forward who struggled with the Raptors last season but was named the NBA's Most Improved Player just two years ago with Orlando.

In a sign-and-trade with the Hawks, the Suns would acquire Childress, a 6-foot-8 forward who averaged 11.1 points per game over four seasons with Atlanta, according to the Arizona Republic. Childress played for the Greek team Olympiakos the last two seasons, but his rights are still owned by the Hawks.

Childress would sign a five-year, $30 million deal with Atlanta before being shipped off to Phoenix for a future second-round pick and a portion of a trade exception.

The Suns, who lost in the Western Conference finals this past spring, also recently re-signed center Channing Frye and inked free agent forward Hakim Warrick.

Turkoglu is represented by Lon Babby, who is reportedly a candidate to replace Steve Kerr as the president of the Suns' basketball operation. Childress was previously represented by Babby before leaving the agent for Octagon.

It's official, Turkoglu for Barbosa.

BC is just starting to win me back a bit.

Phoenix North.

At least Diaw only has one year left on his contract.

Actually, I think Diaw has two years left which kind of sucks. But it also looks like Calderon and Reggie Evans are apart of the Bobcats trade for Tyson Chandler and his expiring contract. Things are looking positive I suppose.

http://www.torontosun.com/sports/basket ... 87706.html

Say this for Bryan Colangelo, he might make the odd mess, but he cleans up very well.

The Raptors general manager is on the verge of removing his two ugliest contracts from the books, though nothing is yet official.

The Arizona Republic first reported late Sunday that Hedo Turkoglu would be heading to Phoenix in exchange for guard Leandro Barbosa and that Charlotte forward Boris Diaw would also be Toronto-bound, but it was a far more advanced transaction than that.

The Raptors will also ship its longest-serving member, Jose Calderon, along with Reggie Evans for centre Tyson Chandler.

The Raptors take back almost $5 million US extra right away in the deals than they send out, but the numbers work under the CBA and they save substantially long-term.

Evans’ contract expires next summer, like Chandler’s, but Turkoglu and Calderon were owed more than $73 million (four years left for Turkoglu, three for Calderon). Diaw makes $9 million both this season and next, while Barbosa is owed $7.1 and $7.6 million.

The arrival of Chandler and Diaw would create a logjam up front. They are both capable of playing centre, which would push Andrea Bargnani – now the longest tenured Raptor – to his natural power forward spot, but that would cut the minutes available to play Amir Johnson and promising rookie Ed Davis.

Chandler has been hampered by injuries for several years, but maintains his bothersome toe is fully healed. He confirmed his move to Toronto to Yahoo! Sports, while Steve Nash confirmed Barbosa's Phoenix exit via Twitter.

Barbosa is a shooting guard with the size of a point guard, but is not capable of running a team effectively.

Interesting. If true, then Bosh is a pussy for not finishing the season.

Hahahahaha I just realized Bargnani is the best player on the team, it's gonna be one hell of a season.
